Tonight should have been the night for lighting the luminaries made by the Verona Woman’s Club, Junior Woman’s Club of Verona and Juniorettes for Share Your Light Night.
But with snow already falling, the groups have asked the community to hold off on lighting their luminaries along their sidewalks and walkways until next Saturday, December 16.
“Thank you for participating in our fundraiser by purchasing luminary kits,” said Mickey Lawrence, treasurer of the Woman’s Club. “We received a great response from the community, and we are looking forward to a beautiful night next weekend. Should the ground be wet next Saturday, we recommend placing a sheet of tin foil under the white bags to prevent the bags of sand soaking through, and to make clean-up easier.”
