The Verona Police Department is investigating a Tuesday, November 28, burglary on Linden Avenue.
According to Capt. Stephen DePoe, at 3:45 p.m. that day, Officers Juliano and Young responded to a Linden Avenue residence on a report of a burglary. Upon arrival and after clearing the home, the officers spoke to the resident who stated that they left the home around 8:20 a.m. and returned at 3:45 p.m. When they entered the home, they discovered the front and back doors ajar. Upon closer inspection a window in the rear of the house was broken. Several bedrooms were rummaged through and the resident reported that a TV, jewelry and headphones were taken.
A short time later Detectives Martin and Conroy arrived to process the scene. A canvass of the area was conducted with negative results.
The VPD says the investigation into the burglary is still ongoing. Anyone with information should call 972-239-5000 and ask for Detective Conroy.
