NJ.com has heaped more honors on the Verona High School volleyball team, naming Hunter Coppola, Carly Waterman and Madisyn Matthews first team, Group 1 in its 2017 all-Group selections.
Brooke Cooney and Cameron Fuentez were named second team. In addition, Coach Jeff Stiefbold was picked as the the NJ.com girls volleyball state Coach of the Year.
The 2017 VHS volleyball team captured the divisional, county, sectional and Group 1 championship titles, finishing their season with a record of 31 game wins and one loss, which occurred in the Tournament of Champions semi-finals.
