Verona High School is getting its first swim team this winter. Like many of the newer sports at VHS, it’s going to be pay-to-play, which means that there will need to be fundraisers to keep the team, well, afloat.
The first of those fundraisers will be this Saturday, November 4, when the team will be selling hot chocolate and home-made chocolate chip cookies at the entrance to Walgreen’s in Verona. Weather.com is predicting a slightly raw day, with temps in the 50s, which should make for good weather for a warmup.
The team will be at the store from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Walgreens is located at 342 Claremont Avenue, between Cumberland and Derwent avenues.
