sunflowersAt the beginning of the summer, Bob and Carol Thomas framed out a “children’s garden” at the edge of their property on Balston Drive. (Carol Thomas is a science teacher at H.B. Whitehorne and a big proponent of all things environmental.) They also provided seeds and popsicle sticks marked with the name of all the kids on Balston, Whitney and Windemere, and encouraged the kids to plant the seeds, occasionally water them, and watch the growth process.

Several months later, the block now has a beautiful sunflower garden that is enjoyed by all residents and visitors. Another wonderful example of what makes Verona such a great place to live.
