Mr. August ‘Gus” Branco, 83, died on September 7, 2017 in Belleville. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, will be on Wednesday, September 13 from 5 to 8 p.m., with a service to be held at 7:30 p.m.
Born and raised in Newark, Gus moved to Verona 18 years ago. He graduated from East Side High School and worked as a sales rep for Hallmark Cards.
He was the husband of Joyce McEvoy, the father of Brian Branco (Cynthia), Jill Formato (Ralph) and the grandfather of Angelica Branco, Kenneth, Daniel and Michael Formato. He is also survived by Joyce’s family, Pat McEvoy (Barbara), Sharon McEvoy and grandchildren John and Brian McEvoy.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Verona Volunteer Fire Department would be appreciated.
