Laura Fortgang, the Verona resident who is running for New Jersey state Assembly from the 26th electoral district, is sponsoring a Dress For Success clothing drive on Saturday, May 13.
Dress For Success collects gently used business attire for disadvantaged women who are entering or re-entering the workforce to achieve economic independence and stability.
Fortgang’s event is collecting gently used, in-season business-appropriate skirts, pants, jackets, blouses/shells, shoes, hand bags, jewelry and new pantyhose. Clothing must be delivered on hangers in dry-cleaning bags, or neatly folded in boxes or bags. The event cannot accept casual clothing, men’s or children’s clothing, or clothing in poor condition. Larger sizes are most needed but all will do.
The clothing drive will be held on Saturday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Parsippany IHOP, 792 Route 46 West in Parsippany. For more information, contact Robin Wallace at [email protected] or 973-477-5309.
The 26th electoral district includes Verona as well as Fairfield, North Caldwell, West Caldwell, Butler, Jefferson, Kinnelon, Lincoln Park, Montville, Morris Plains, Parsippany-Troy Hills, Rockaway and West Milford. New Jersey’s Democratic primary is Tuesday, June 6.
