Verona Jazz and Beyond will perform on Thursday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Verona High School auditorium. Verona Jazz and Beyond is a group of very talented Verona High School musicians under the direction of Max Morden.
This year’s concert will feature a celebration of the centenary of Ella Fitzgerald. There will be performances of the music of some significant musicians recently lost such as Leon Russell, George Michael, Chuck Berry, and Maurice White of Earth, Wind and Fire. Swing, Latin and the Pink Panther are on tap.
The audience will be treated to a history of the blues with a very special guest artist, New Jersey and blues star, Rob Paparozzi, a Grammy-nominated harmonica player and vocalist. He has worked with Dolly Parton, Bruce Springsteen, Cyndi Lauper, Whitney Houston and the Original Blues Brothers Band, among others. Other highlights include music by Justin Timberlake, Joe Cocker and The Foundations.
