Question 4: What question do you find yourself being asked most frequently by prospective voters and how do you handle it?

Christopher Piccuirro: The question I have been asked most often is “why are you running for town council?”. My answer can be broken down into three main reasons:

First, I would truly be honored to serve this town. Verona has meant so much to myself and prior generations of my family. Although I did not grow up in Verona this town has always been a focal point in my life. As a child my family frequently visited the Brookdale section of Verona to be with my grandparents. We would also visit my great grandmother at Hillwood Terrace and my aunt who eventually moved from Grove Street into my grandparent’s home. Verona has been a central destination for my family as far back as I can remember. Walking to the Verona Park playground, swimming in the Verona pool and occasionally sledding at the golf course with my siblings and cousins are permanently engraved in my memory. It was these memories which solidified my decision to call this town my home.

Second, I am fully invested in Verona for many years to come. My wife and I decided to move here because it is a great town to raise a family. We have not one regret as Verona has exceeded even our highest expectations. We wanted our kids to grow up in a close-knit community which only a few towns like Verona can provide. As a parent of young children I am truly lucky to benefit from all the services our town has to offer. My goal is to continue on a path which enables Verona to be a great family town.

Finally, I truly believe I have the temperament, courage and work ethic to make a positive impact. I am running for Town Council because of my love for this town and my will to do good by it. I will listen to the community and make educated decisions on the issues presented to the council. I welcome the responsibility to help shape the future of Verona for our children and generations to come. Walk with me.

  1. Carrie cares for the same things this 85 year old
neighbor who has lived here since 1959 does. She’s
not a one issue candidate, she just loves this
community. She lives with Chris, a lifelong
Verona resident and their two beautiful children.
Carrie is articulate, bright, and an attorney who
understands contracts and other issues pertaining
to law. I think she would be a tremendous asset
to our all male council and will be objective
in her decisions Please consider a yes vote
for CARRIE FORD, you will never regret it.
