blood-donationThe Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has nominated Verona High School student Cianna Winkler as a candidate in their inaugural “Student of the Year” fundraising challenge, which runs until March 8.

Winkler says she accepted the challenge to honor everyone who has battled cancers, like her grandmother and grandfather, and to raise money that will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission to find a cure and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

“I could not be more excited to make a difference in the lives of patients across the country,” writes Winkler. “With only 1 week to go, I need your help more than ever to reach my $10,000 goal!! Please consider making a tax-deductable donation! Any size donation is appreciated and greatly needed. To donate online, please visit my fundraising webpage.”

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, founded in 1949, is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. You can learn more about its mission and its services here.
