Verona Lions Support Verona Boy Scouts

The Verona Lions donated a $500 check to the Verona Boy Scouts Troop 2 to assist the scouts’ need for training new skills and equipment during its Annual Awards night on Tuesday, October 25.

Verona Troop 2 has been active in Verona for approximately 90 years. There are currently 24 active members with an estimated 10 new members joining from Cub Scouts in March 2017. On average Verona Troop 2 have three scouts per year attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

“The goal of the Boy Scouts is to help young people build character, train them to be responsible citizens and support the community. These are principles we all support,” stated Steve Janett, past president of the Verona Lions.
