Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Murphy held a Town Hall meeting at the Verona Community Center on Thursday, September 29. Introduced by Former Verona Mayor and current Councilman Bob Manley, Murphy laid out his progressive agenda and vision for a better New Jersey.
Teena Schwartz, Chairwoman of the Verona Democratic Committee was elated to see the standing-room only crowd. “Given the size of the crowd this evening, it is obvious that our party members have a desire to meet the candidates. It is our hope that these types of forums continue for this important election.”
Among the political dignitaries in attendance were Former Governor Richard Codey, Assemblywoman Mila Jasey, Essex County Clerk Chris Durkin, mayors Steven Fulop (Jersey City), Kevin Ryan (Verona), Sheena Collum (South Orange), Ray Kimble (Belleville), Michael Venezia (Belleville) and former Verona Mayor Frank Sapienza.
