Candles4Mr. Richard J. Bevilacqua, 73, died on August 23, 2016 in Livingston. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona, on Monday, August 29 at 10 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.

Born in Montclair, Mr. Bevilacqua was a lifelong resident of Verona and was a member of the class of 1961 at Verona High School.

He spent a career in heating and air conditioning as a pipefitter and supervisor with the Steamfitters Local 475 in Warren. He was forced to retire in 1998 due to job-related exposure to asbestos.

Rich was a faithful communicant at Our Lady of the Lake Church, brought communion to the homebound and was a volunteer at St. John’s Soup kitchen in Newark.

He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Anne, and his son-in-law, Joe Favorito.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jennings Bevilacqua, his children and their spouses, Donna (Bill) Duckworth, Margaret Favorito, Carole (Lorenzo) Gentile and Daniel (Patti) Bevilacqua. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to FernDog Rescue Foundation, P.O. Box 266, Caldwell NJ 07006 would be appreciated.
