Visiting will be in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Friday, August 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair, on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Born and raised in Newark, Mrs. Onorato moved to Verona in 1984. She was a secretary for the Verona Board of Education, working at the H.B. Whitehorne School for 23 years, retiring in 2011.

Mrs. Onorato was the loving wife of the late Thomas J. Onorato and is survived by her son, Thomas Onorato, her sisters, Geri Travisano, Donna Saraceno (and her husband Joe), Victoria Tramaglini (and her husband, Joe) and her nieces and nephews, Jaclynn Tramaglini, Nancy Ann Racanelli, Steven Serritella and Jimmy Serritella.

In lieu of flowers, Antoinette asked that charitable donations be made to the two charities that she was most passionate about during her lifetime. During her entire life, Antoinette cared deeply for our four-legged friends and continuously made donations to pet related charities.  Please make donations to PAWS Animal Shelter and Foster Care Program in Montclair. The research team at Columbia University Hospital is doing ground-breaking research on diseases and movement disorders of the brain. These donations specifically go to their important research programs. Please make donations to the Neurology Department Research Fund.
