The Verona High School football team and the VHS Marching Maroon and White are together on the gridiron all fall, so it is perhaps only fitting that they are both having car washes on same day.
This Saturday, August 20, the football players will be cleaning cars in the loop in front of H.B. Whitehorne Middle School in the center of town from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The band and color guard will get an earlier start, holding their fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year, the car wash will be held at F. N. Brown Elementary School, 125 Grove Avenue, due to the ongoing construction at the high school.
