PrepVolleyball.com, which covers that sport across the country, has named Verona High School sophomore Carly Waterman to its “Soph 79” list of top sophomores based on high school achievement only. To put that in context, there are about 100,000 sophomore volleyball players in the U.S. and Waterman is in the top 79; another 376 players were recognized with honorable mentions. Carly Waterman, 5-9 OH, Verona (New Jersey) – First Team All-State Group 1, Waterman’s 366 kills in 2015 ranked her fourth overall in the Garden State. Waterman also piled up 127 digs and 39 aces for the Hillbillies. She also earned All-Conference and All-County honors.
