MaggieAshley-LaxMaggie Ashley, a sophomore at Verona High School, has accepted and verbally committed to a lacrosse athletic scholarship at Bucknell University. Ashley received offers from multiple schools including top 20 programs, Duke University and James Madison University. The combination of academics, scholarship amount and proximity tilted the scales in Bucknell’s favor.

Ashley also had a successful winter track season, placing second in the 400m at the state sectional championships.

In attending Bucknell, Ashley will be putting herself in some notable company. Suzanne Giarrusso, the head coach of the girls lacrosse programm at VHS, played field hockey at Bucknell. Meghan Fitzpatrick, a 2009 graduate of VHS, was a co-captain of the 2012 women’s soccer team and was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 2 Second Team in 2012.
