The youth at the First Presbyterian Church of Verona, located at 10 Fairview Avenue, will celebrate the “Souper Bowl” again this year collecting cans of soup (and monetary donations) at the end of the service on Sunday, February 7.

The Souper Bowl of Caring is a national youth movement working to fight hunger and poverty in their own local communities around the time of the Super Bowl. The organization has been around since 1990 and The First Presbyterian Church of Verona has been actively participating for the past 10 years. A simple $1 and a can of soup can make a huge impact in the community. Last year the church was able to collect over $200 and more than 60 cans of soup.

The Sunday service will be led by Rev. Edward Clydesdale and will feature special music by the Glory Guitar Ensemble, Joyful Noise, Sacred Singers and the Senior Choir. The service begins at 10:15 a.m. and there is ample parking in the lot behind the church.
