The Verona High School football team was at Kings Supermarket on Sunday for their annual “Celebrity Bagging”. The guys did the heavy lifting and collected donations for Team Zoey. That’s the group that has been created around Verona youngster Zoey Penny to raise money for the Progeria Research Foundation. Progeria is a rare, rapid aging disease.
The next big Team Zoey event is the annual Turkey Trot in Verona Park on November 28. There’s a 5K race and a one-mile fun run, and you can register for both here.
