The Verona Fire Department is having one of its big pancake breakfasts at firehouse No. 2 this Sunday, October 11. And yes, we mean big: For $6 per person, you can get pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea, juice or hot chocolate. The cost is just $5 for seniors and kids under six eat free.
It is Fire Prevention Week so in addition to the pancake breakfast there will also be various fire prevention activities going on for both parents and kids throughout the day. Activities will include “Stop, Drop & Roll” demonstrations, home exit drills, a reminder on when to call the fire department, and how to dial 9-1-1. There will be handouts including coloring books, and the VFD will be showing off firefighter gear.
The breakfast runs from 7 a.m. to noon. Firehouse No. 2 is located at 209 Bloomfield Avenue, next to Decozen Chrysler Jeep Dodge and across from Everett Field. There is parking in back of the firehouse.
