BackpacksLife1Last year, on Veteran’s Day, we brought you the story of Brett D’Alessandro and Kevin Clark, who started Backpacks For Life, a charity to help homeless veterans. Both young men are Verona High School graduates (class of 2010) and D’Alessandro served with the Marine Corps in Iraq.

In June, Clark, D’Alessandro and Backpacks For Life got a boost from a chef and radio personality whose radio and video show pays tribute to heroes in communities across America. Mimi Kozma and Mike Schwartz invited D’Alessandro and Clark to Ariane Kitchen & Bar in Verona, where chef Ariane Duarte helped cooked a special meal and Backpacks for Life got a big donation that should help it reach even more veterans.

You can watch the episode here.
