I am very grateful that 1,300 of my fellow residents took the time to cast their ballot for me. I don’t believe a council candidate has ever received that much support and didn’t come out on top. My message of restoring sensible leadership to the council, fiscal responsibility, improving infrastructure, especially our library and maintaining services was one that resonated with voters. These are issues I strongly believe in and will continue to pursue.
Congratulations to Michael Nochimson and Alex Roman. I expect both will serve this town admirably, represent all residents and put the best interest of our community first.
I’d also like to express thanks to Frank Sapienza for his selfless service to our community. He ran his campaign the way he conducted himself throughout his term in office with honor and dignity.
Campaigns take time and effort and I could not have done this without the help of some exceptional people. I would like to thank my children Betsy and Richie, Elizabeth and Lou Morano, Mike and Renee Puerari, Dawn and Tom Mulligan, Tim and Nancy Burke, Don Flood, Fred Goode and Mike Cifaretto. Special thanks to my longtime friend and Treasurer Steve Eliasof.
Verona is a wonderful town that we all chose to call home. Each councilmember was elected by our community and will play a vital role in the future and direction of our town. I encourage them to put personal agenda’s aside and work together to keep Verona a great community. It is what our residents expect and deserve.
