The Verona Sports Boosters would like to honor Paige Ferrell of the Verona High School softball team as this week’s Senior Athlete of the Week.
Paige has all 10 decisions for this year’s 8-2 Hillbilly squad. In 51 innings this season, Paige has yielded 48 hits and 14 runs while striking out 64.
The biggest influence in her life is her mom, stating that she has always been someone she looked up to and is a great role model for her. She says that her current softball coaches, Angela Salisbury and Patricia Hemsley-Cartotto, are the best she’s ever had. They are both great motivators both on and off the field.
Her favorite food is frozen yogurt, she is a fan of the TV show How I Met Your Mother, and her favorite band is Coldplay.
For Paige, there is no better vacation than when she goes to her family’s house in New Hampshire in the summer. She has two cats, Rhett and Pepper.
Next year, Paige will be attending Lafayette College. Though she has not decided on a major, it will most likely be something in the areas of math or engineering.
The Verona Sports Booster wish Paige good luck the rest of the season, and next year at Lafayette.
