The Verona High School girls lacrosse team is off to a 10-2 start this season, and a big reason for their early success is Jackie, who scored her 200th career lacrosse goal over spring break. For her Hillbilly career Jackie has tallied 194 goals and has 50 assists. Her hope is that the team can go deep into both the county and state tournaments this year.

Jackie singled out Coach Suzanne Giarusso as her favorite. She says that Coach has been there for her throughout her entire career and has helped her develop as a player. She lists Mr. White and Mr. Wertz as her favorite teachers as each helped her to figure out her future plans.

When not playing lacrosse, Jackie can be found eating pizza bagels with her dog Dusty while watching Hawaii Five-O. Her all-time favorite movie is The Dark Knight Rises. Jackie lists Aruba as her favorite vacation spot.Brozyna-AOW-3

If she could have dinner with anyone, she’d choose Dr. Nancy Andrews who was the first female Dean of the Duke University School of Medicine. Having held that position since 2007, Jackie feels she would have plenty of interesting things to say about her career and her life.

Next year Jackie plans to attend college and study either biology or computer science, with long-term plans of going to medical school. Syracuse, Northeastern, and TCNJ are schools she is considering. Jackie would also play lacrosse in college if she goes to TCNJ.

The Verona Sports Boosters wishes Jackie luck the rest of this season and throughout her upcoming college experience.
