The Verona High School boys track team had an exciting victory over Cedar Grove this past Wednesday, winning 70-69. Verona was trailing 69-65 going into the very last event, the 4 x 400m relay.
The relay team of Larry Studwell, Anthony Giuliano, Ryam Ramsthaler and Evan Huaman put the finishing touch on an exciting competition. Matt Intili and Chris Yeates combined for 29 points, while many boys had strong performances for Verona.
The girls lost 74-58 with Jess Williams, Angel Barkley and Zoie Petronzo getting first place performances while combining for 27 points. Both teams will compete on Saturday, April 25 at the Twin-Boro Relays at Ramsey High School and again on Monday, April 27 at home against Shabazz High School.
