A proclamation celebrating Verona High School’s state championship football season was given last week at the Commonwealth club in Montclair.

On December 5, 2014, the VHS football team defeated top-seeded Cresskill High School in the North Jersey Section 1, Group 1 final at MetLife Stadium by a score of 20-0. The 2014 Hillbillies were undefeated in regular season play, making them the only undefeated team in the 75 years of Verona High School football.
