MyVeronaNJ-Car-SnowThe Verona Police have issued a notice that there is to be no on-street parking from 4 p.m. Monday until the end of the snow storm and say there will be “no exceptions”. Vehicles left on the roadway will be subject to ticketing and towing.

The parking ban includes overnight parking. The police say that, if you have no place to park your car during the snow storm, you may park in a metered parking space in Municipal Lot 1, which is behind Terry’s Pharmacy; at the Verona Community Center, 880 Bloomfield Avenue; or at the Verona Pool lot on Fairview Avenue. If you park in Municipal Lot 1, the police are asking that you do not park in spots designated for permit holders.

The northside trash pickup for Tuesday is cancelled. Please hold your garbage for Friday if you live to the north of Bloomfield Avenue in the Laning or F.N. Brown school areas.

The police are reminding all residents that no snow is to be pushed, blown, or thrown into the street. If you do so, you’ll be issued a summons–even if it was your snow removal contractor that did it. All sidewalks need to be cleared within 24 hours of the end of the storm.

And finally, if you have a fire hydrant on your property, help the Verona Fire Department by clearing the area around it so that can hook up their hoses quickly in case of emergency.
