The Friends of the Verona Public Library’s silent movie series continues on Sunday, December 14, at 2:30 p.m.
Marion Davies and William Haines star in King Vidor’s Show People (1928), a comedy about small-town girl Davies trying to make it in Hollywood. This film provides a fascinating behind-the-scenes glimpse at moviemaking during the silent era, and features cameos from a number of big stars of the day, including Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks and John Gilbert.
The program is free and will be in the Jack Foley Room at the Verona Public Library, located at 17 Gould Street, Verona. Questions about the movie can be sent via email to [email protected] or by calling the library at 973-857-4848.
