Verona High School is creating a Senior Capstone Project and needs the help of local businesses and organizations in a wide variety of fields.
VHS is allowing high school seniors to take the last six weeks of the school year and complete a minimum of 20 hours per week at an internship in the area of their choice. Students will have to apply for the program and will be accepted provided they are in good academic standing with a solid attendance record and no disciplinary violations.
The director of the Senior Capstone Project, Angela Salisbury, is looking for businesses and organizations that would be willing to take on one or more high school seniors and provide them an opportunity to learn first-hand the daily operations of a career that interests them. The program will take place starting the middle of May and run until the end of June. Students will be required to perform a minimum of 20 hours per week under the project and will have to present a report on their experiences at the culmination of the internships.
Interested businesses and organizations may contact Salisbury at [email protected].
