To the editor:
Verona Fights Hunger Week, coordinated by the Junior Woman’s Club of Verona, was a huge success! We collected an incredible 790 bags of food – and $1,900 in donations – for the Human Needs Food Pantry in Montclair.
The first-ever town-wide food drive was an amazing effort, and it would not have been possible without the support of so many in our community. We would like to thank Verona Mayor Bob Manley; Kings Food Market; Casella & Sons Moving Service; Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen; Superintendent Rui Dionisio; the SCAs of all of our local schools; the HBW Dream Team; Connie Pifher; Partners for Health; PostNet; Verona Inn; Frank Anthony’s; Bella Gente; PositiviTea; Lapels; Walgreens; Anthony Franco’s; Avenue Bistro; Lakeside Deli; Hot Bagels-N-More; Main Street Cottage; the Woman’s Club and Juniorettes; Verona Lions Club; the Girl Scout organization, especially Troops 20328, 20382, 21221, 20341, 20549, 20228 and 160; Boy Scout Packs 5, 31 and 32; Verona Baseball and Softball League; the Verona Eagles; VMAC; Verona Public Library; First Congregational Church of Verona; and Automatic Entertainment DJs of Cedar Grove.
We feel fortunate to live in such a wonderful town where we can come together to support our neighbors in need. We thank everyone for their support!
