Once again, the Verona High School cheerleaders are sponsoring their annual Breast Cancer Showcase on October 24 at 7 p.m. in the VHS gymnasium. They are cheering to support The Minette’s Angels Foundation, and the event’s proceeds will be donated to this organization.
Last year, the Verona High School cheerleaders raised almost $2,500 and they hope to do the same this year.
The Minette’s Angels Foundation was created in 2004 to honor a Verona resident who died after a 10-year battle with breast cancer. It offers scholarships to Verona students entering the medical field, and provides assistance to those in treatment for cancer, as well as supporting breast health awareness. (The foundation is rebuilding its Web site; bookmark this address for future reference.)
