‘Music Man’ Coming To VHS

MusicMan-Rehearsal1Verona Summer Music is staging “The Music Man” on Thursday and Friday, July 24 and 25, at the Verona High School auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10. All seats are reserved and you can buy your tickets in the VHS auditorium from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday until show day. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door the night of the performances.

The cast is made up of 70 students ranging in age from 9 to 16. The show is under the direction of Brian Michalowski, the musical director is John Priori, and dances are choreographed by Grace Buneo. The entire summer music program is under the direction of Max Morden.

Colin Vega has been cast as Prof. Harold Hill, the music man of the show’s title. Carla Bello will play Marian Paroo (Marian the librarian), with Griffin Willner as Marcellus, Joseph Anello as Constable Locke, David Karpinski as Charlie Cowell and Jack McHugh as the lovable, lisping Winthrop. Patrick Morrisseau will be Mayor Shinn, with Kate Ryan as his wife Eulalie. Anna Shea is Mrs. Paroo and Anna Serra is Mrs. Squires.

The Summer Music students have just four weeks to pull the show together, working daily from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 and in 4 p.m. on their singing and dancing.MusicMan-Rehearsal2
