Save the date: The annual Fred Hill Golf Classic will be held on Monday, September 22, at the Essex County Country Club in West Orange. The event benefits the V Foundation for Cancer Research, which was created to find a cure for cancer in memory of NC State University Basketball Coach Jim Valvano.
Hill, a long-time Verona resident, retired this year after 30 years as the head coach of Rutgers Baseball. The university retired his jersey in a special ceremony this May.
