The Friends of the Verona Public Library are actively preparing for their annual book sale, which will run from December 5th through December 9th, 2013. The Friends are in need of gently used book donations, especially recent fiction and nonfiction, children’s books of all levels (board books, picture books, easy readers, chapter books, and teen novels), DVDs (both children and adult programming and movies), and audio books.
The Friends will be collecting donations throughout the month of October. Unfortunately, the Friends cannot take donations of VHS tapes, CDs, audio cassettes, textbooks, dictionaries, and books that have mold or visible wear and tear.
Donations can be dropped off at the Verona Public Library during normal operating hours (9 am to 9 pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, and 2 pm to 5 pm on Sundays). Please tell the staff member at the front desk that you have a book donation and they will direct you where they can be dropped off. Please do not leave book donations outside of library on the front steps.
Also in October, The Friends will be kicking off National “Friends of the Library” Week with a members’ breakfast and annual meeting on Saturday, October 19th at 9:30 a.m. Come to have a light breakfast and learn more about the Friends and how you can volunteer, renew your membership, and vote for new officers in the club. All members of the public are invited to attend. RSVPs are encouraged but not required. To RSVP, please feel free to call the Library at 973-857-4848 or email [email protected].
