Maria and Joseph Ortoleva-page-0Jane Eliasof, the Verona resident who runs the Montclair Historical Society, has let us know that the Society is hosting an event to help area residents preserve old family photos and video.

On Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. people can drop off their photographs, films, VHS, and slides at the Israel Crane House, 110 Orange Road, Montclair, and Innovative Document Imaging, a leading provider of professional digital imaging services, will return a few weeks later with everything in digital format – CD, DVD or flash drive.

“Since the Montclair Historical Society is here to preserve Montclair history”, says Eliasof, “we saw it only fit to provide Montclair-area families a way to preserve their family histories. We all have old photos, tapes or slides lurking in drawers or closets that need to be preserved.”

A price list can be found on www.montclairhistorical.org by clicking on the “Preserve Your Family History Event.” Twenty percent of the proceeds benefit the ongoing preservation and education efforts of the Montclair Historical Society.
