April was a month of endings in Verona. We lost David Bruce Williams, one of our most active volunteer leaders, and Annin Flagmakers, which had been Verona’s flagship industry since 1919, announced that it would end flag production in town on June 28. Annin was no longer the largest employer in Verona: When the announcement was made, only a handful of workers remained, mostly to repair or produce specialty flags.
Here’s what our readers decided were the top stories on MyVeronaNJ.com for April 2013. Interestingly, the story on the Anthony Robert Salon was published almost a year ago.
