Volunteers Clean Peckman Woods For Earth Day

Peckman-ATo celebrate Earth Day, the Verona Environmental Commission organized a cleanup at two locations in town on April 14. VEC member Kerry Bass was the cleanup coordinator. The morning group met at F.N. Brown School by the woods entrance behind the playground. The afternoon group met at Brookdale Ave. School behind the field.

The volunteers helped keep the Peckman River clean by removing trash and debris from the surrounding areas. The township provided gloves, garbage bags, recycling containers and they will remove the collected materials. Several members of the Junior Woman’s Club of Verona participated as well as Verona High School juniors.
