On Wednesday #15 Sam Bass started as pitcher when Verona won against Belleville High School 8-5.
#6 Caroline Chivily and #8 Olivia Feiger combined for 5 hits and 5 RBIs. #9 Ellen DiDia also had two hits and although most of the scoring came on errors, it was a well played game by both teams.
Home runs by both teams made the game quite interesting as Bass allowed 2 earned runs.
The girls followed the Belleville win with a 12-2 victory over Mountain Lakes on Thursday, evening their record 3-3. But the Friday afternoon game Millburn and the Saturday contest against Sussex Tech have both been postponed by the rain.
