A “maker” is somebody who creates technology innovations with his or her own hands–digital DIY. Makers need a place to do their making, and a group of people are meeting tonight in Montclair to discuss creating a community-operated space for that purpose.
The event has been organized Jon Bonesteel, a self-styled nerd from Montclair, with Debbie Galant and Saul Hansell. Galant is the founder of Baristanet and Hansell is a former technology reporter for The New York Times who is now working on a video news project.
The gathering will be at the Commonwealth Club at 26 Northview Avenue, starting at 7:30 p.m. To get there, go past the Clearview Bellevue movie theater in Upper Montclair and make the first right after Valley Road. There will be time for networking before and after the presentation by Bonesteel, which you can preview here.
The event fee is $10 fee and you can register and pay that here.
