Have you ever been curious about your iPod’s great-granddaddy?

On Tuesday, December 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Verona Community Center, the Verona Historical Society will host a program by Verona resident Al DeOld on Edison cylinder phonographs.

DeOld has been actively collecting for over fifty years and will discuss the following topic areas: Edison and inventing, Edison and advertising, types of Edison cylinder machines, and the development of cylinder records.

There will be demonstrations of several of the types of Edison cylinder machines, displays of advertising and cylinders, and a time for questions from the group.

Immediately following the presentation the Society invites all to join them for a holiday party. For more information you can email the Society or call 973-857-1968. The Verona Historical Society will be at Fair in the Square tomorrow from noon to 5 p.m.
