Let’s hope that Chuck Molinaro and the rest of the Verona Department of Public Works got a lot of sleep last night because there’s another storm headed our way.
Winter Storm Athena will start out as rain later this morning, but the National Weather Service is now saying it could convert to snow as early as 3 p.m. By 6 p.m., the snow could be heavy enough to affect rush hour traffic, so take that into consideration if you are heading into NYC for work or the theater today.
But, like Hurricane Sandy, the biggest problem for Verona could once again be the wind. A wind advisory for our area will be in effect as of 1 p.m. The National Weather Service is calling for winds ranging from 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts of up to 50 mph. If your cell phones and computers do not have a full charge now would be an excellent time to juice them up again. Might also be a good time to restock the D batteries.
