The black bears that have been wandering through our area may have been exploring the Lenape Trail, but you can explore it too on Monday, October 8.
The FreeWalkers, a group that promotes long-distance walking, is holding a walk that day along the 34 miles of the Lenape Trail from Millburn to Newark. The free walk goes through three reservations, several county and municipal parks, and nearly a dozen towns.
Now, walking the whole trail is expected to take about 13.5 hours. If you and your feet can’t handle that, the  Free Walkers want you to know that you can drop in for shorter segments along the way. More details here, or watch the video shot during last year’s walk.
