Where In Verona Is It? March

It’s the first Monday of a new month, which means that it’s time for a new round of Where in Verona Is It? If you’re new to the contest, take heart: A new participant, Kent Hudson, won the February round by guessing Verona Opticians/Affinity Eye Care.

Here's the new prize

But if you’re new to the contest today, you’ll need to know what this is all about. For 52 weeks, from July 2010 through July 2011, Verona-based photographer Fred Goode took his camera around town, photographing familiar locations in unfamiliar ways. After a break, he’s returned to the contest this year, with a new head-scratcher every month. (Here’s January and February). Every morning, for the rest of the month of March, we’ll be revealing a new photo and adding it to the slideshow below.

When you think you know where the photo was taken, put your best guess, your real name and your email address into the Comments field below. The winning guess wins one of our new “I Love Verona” T-shirts. And remember this: No whining about how hard the clues are. Fred will just make them harder next month.

We’ve added a second third photo. Kristin Shea gets the shirt: It’s Trattoria Bella Gente!

  1. It’s Maggiore, but we don’t take points off for spelling.
We do take points off for wrong answers.
    (Minus one)

  2. Colin, Ray’s was week four of the original contest (https://myveronanj.com/2011/07/25/where-in-verona-was-it-a-year-in-review/) and while we have done repeats on occasion, that’s not where we are this week.

Jim, since I just found out that Terry’s carries shirts with the original Hillbillies logo, I would love to be able to say that this week’s contest is at Terry’s. But it isn’t.

Marilyn, interesting guess and given the fact that Fred has taken pictures of snow piles and a water tower, that wall might have been a possibility. But that’s not where we are.

Stop back tomorrow morning around 6 a.m. for the next photo, everybody.

  3. Ladies and gentlemen, Kristin knows her Verona restaurants. It is, indeed, Bella Gente.

Take a look at the rest of Fred’s photos and let us know how many it would have taken for you to figure out where in Verona we were.
