While many New Jersey eateries are having specials this week because it’s Restaurant Week, Verona resident Franco Del Barba wants you to know he has a special menu at Epernay that isn’t going away. Epernay is a French bistro on Park Street in Montclair (almost opposite the YMCA), and it feels and tastes like Paris.
Del Barba’s “Extended Restaurant Week” menu is a three-course fixed-price deal at $31 per person. You have your choice of five starters (French onion soup or country paté are two of the choices) and four entrées (like veal Parisian or Hanger steak) and either chocolate mousse or ice cream for dessert.
Epernay, which is BYO, is open every night except Monday from 5 to 10 p.m. and the special menu is not available on Saturday or holidays.
I had the mussels in white wine, garlic and parsley and the hanger steak. Both were tremendous – my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
