Sure, there’s two feet of snow on the ground. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t start thinking about what you’re going to plant in your vegetable garden this summer.

This Saturday, January 22 at 10 a.m., the Rutgers Master Gardeners of Essex County will hold a workshop called “Planning Your Vegetable Garden”. You’ll learn the basics of selecting a site for a productive vegetable garden, soil fertility and management techniques, planting schedules and plant selection.

The class meets at the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland, in its older building, Garibaldi Hall. The cost is $8 per adult and you’ve got to register first by calling 973-228-8776.
