Mr. Michael Malfettano, Sr., 53, died on Sunday, December 12, 2010 in Pequannock.

A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Friday, December 17 at 10:30 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Malfettano lived in Newark & Toms River prior to moving to Verona 15 years ago. He worked in the Seafood Department of Kings Supermarket in Short Hills for the past 25 years and is a member of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union, Local 464A.

Mr. Malfettano is the husband of Maureen Malfettano, the father of Michael Malfettano, Jr., Christopher Malfettano and his wife Shannon, Patrick Malfettano, Stephanie Malfettano, Alyssa Malfettano and Heather Malfettano. He is the brother of Gabriel Malfettano, Jamie Malfettano and his wife Pamela, the grandfather of Michael III, Isabella and Lyla. He is also survived by his in-laws, Gerard and Anne Marie Barone, Michael and Maria Barone, James and Jodi Barone, Tara Barone and by his former wife Monica Myers.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Verona High School Cheerleaders, c/o Jamie Wronski, will be accepted at the funeral home.
