Cancer Cut-A-Thon A Success

From left to right, MaryKay Cosmetics representative Jessica Flannery, Silpada representative Lynn Waldron, Minette Grosso McKenna Angel Foundation board member Suzy Loth, haircut recipient Catherine Welsh, Marisa Lijoi of the Anthony Robert Salon and Patricia Bishop, also on the foundation's board.
More than three dozen men, women and children turned out for a haircut at the Anthony Robert Salon on Sunday afternoon, a cut-a-thon organized to benefit the Minette Grosso McKenna Angel Foundation. Named in honor of a Verona resident who lost a 10-year battle with breast cancer, the foundation helps cancer patients and their families enjoy spirit-lifting events such as dinners and movies.
Anthony Lombardi and salon colorist and stylist Jeff Greenfield cut hair for four hours, aided by Marisa Lijoi. Participants had a chance to sample merchandise from MaryKay Cosmetics and Silpada, brought in by Jessica Flannery and Lynn Waldron, respectively.
Angel Foundation board member Patricia Bishop expressed its thanks to all who participated. “We are so very pleased with the community’s support of this effort to aid the cancer community,” she said.
