Last weekend was a quiet one in Verona real estate. Not so this weekend. There are lots of new listings and several open houses. Use the map below to help it all make sense.
Two of the new listings are condos are in the Claridge buildings, a multi-amenity property we’ve written about before. Claridge Realty Group has a listing for a 1,400-square-foot one-bedroom in Claridge II for $270,000. The second apartment is also in Claridge II, and it is even larger: almost 2,200 square feet. For $549,000 you get three bedrooms, three bathrooms and an eat-in kitchen. Weichert Realtors has the listing. The third condo is also a Weichert listing, a one-bed, one-bath unit in the Green Acres Drive complex off Bloomfield Avenue. This one is on the market for $174,495, and there’s an open house on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
If you’re looking for a house, a small one has come on the market that is cheaper than many condos. It is located at 7 Douglas Place, a dead-end in the Brookdale Avenue elementary school district, and it is listed for just $310,000. Patricia O’Neil of Prominent Properties Sotheby’s has the listing and you can view it here. For a little bit more, $399,000, there’s a three-bedroom house at 109 Forest Avenue. The listing belongs to Lenny Shriber of Prudential New Jersey Properties and there are details on it here. Same neighborhood, a bit more: 11 Morningside Road, listed at $411,000 by Maureen Mostwill of Coldwell Banker Caldwell.
Then there’s a two-family house at 55 Grove Avenue, priced at $587,000 and it’s rather unique. There’s one house at the front of the property and a second, carriage-house-like structure at the back. The listing belongs to Jill Savva of Savva Realty. If your budget is slightly larger, there is 76 Franklin Street, a four-bedroom, three and a half bath home for $599,000. Though some maps may make you think otherwise, Franklin does not cross the Peckman, so the street is effectively a dead end. Marcello Petruzzella of Re/Max Pros has the listing.
If you crave a big back yard but not its upkeep, consider 11 Roberts Court. The street in the Afterglow section of Verona is a quiet cul-de-sac that backs into Eagle Rock Reservation. The four-bedroom house has been listed at $739,000 by Brian McCabe of Coldwell Banker Caldwell.
And finally, for the identical price there’s a very different house on the other side of town. Located at 49 Fells Road, almost at the border of Essex Fells, it has three bedrooms and two and a half baths. Jill Gimber of Prominent Properties Sotheby’s has the listing and there’s an open house there this Sunday, September 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. The top end of the market this week is 101 Forest Avenue, a recently renovated Dutch colonial that’s been listed by its owner at $890,000.
The second open house this Sunday, also 2-4 p.m., is 16 Newman Avenue, a house we profiled when it came on the market in July. The price was recently reduced to $429,000 from its original $449,000. You can see a one-bedroom condo in the Wedgewood Drive complex, priced at $210,000 or 141 Hillside Avenue, a three-bedroom, two-bath house. Both are Weichert listings and both are open 1-5 p.m. [mappress]
