The Seaside Shark

When Julia took a look at the algae bloom on Verona Park Lake the other week she noted that the hot weather that was causing that problem also seemed to be bringing more sharks to the Jersey Shore.

So we maybe shouldn’t have been surprised when Verona native Barry Battista posted to his Facebook page this video of a shark at Seaside getting way too close to shore. The video was taken by another beach-goer but Battista says he’s seen quite a few large thresher sharks while fluke fishing this year. NewJerseyNewsroom.com says beaches up and down the Shore have been closed by shark sightings recently.
