Verona High School juniors Chloe Mathewson and Alena Gabbe have created a fancy dress donation drive to benefit girls in Appalachia.
The students are looking for donations of prom dresses, communion dresses, formal Easter dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and other semi-formal/formal dresses, formal shoes, and clutches. All donations must be cleaned and put in a dry cleaning bag with the size clearly marked. All lengths and sizes will be accepted.
Mathewson and Gabbe will be collecting until Wednesday, November 22. You can drop your donations off at VHS at the dress rack in the lobby or at the donation bin in the Church of the Holy Spirit parking lot at 36 Gould St. in Verona. Both students volunteered with Holy Spirit’s mission trip to Appalachia this summer.
Donations will be brought to St. Paul, Va. where girls will be allowed to shop for their dream looks in a “pop-up store.” Monetary donations will also be accepted to cover other costs for the setup of the store and bussing the girls to and from it.
Please email [email protected] with any questions or to submit a monetary donation! Thank you.
